U.N. Resolution 2117 CALLS FOR MEMBER STATES TO SUPPORT WEAPONS COLLECTION, DISARMAMENT

Editors Note:  Coming from Florida I hope every Floridian gun owner takes notice that the communist scum bag NELSON, the Democrat from our sunshine state, voted readily to have our guns removed.  Remember that when he and all the other 45 treasonous, communist enemies of the people and destroyers of the constitution come up for re-election.  This is the face of a Floridian communist America.
Bill_Nelson
He needs to GO!. Preferably to lets say, Ummm PRISON??  Anywhere away from any position of power and corruption….My opinion America, Fred Brownbill
The U.N. Resolution 2117 lists 21 points dealing with firearms control, but perhaps of most interest is point number 11: “CALLS FOR MEMBER STATES TO SUPPORT WEAPONS COLLECTION, DISARMAMENT —”
HOORAY – 53-46 vote – The U.S. Senate voted against the U.N. resolution.
This is that brief, glorious moment in history
when everyone stands around…reloading.
Now, Which 46 Senators Voted to Destroy Us? Well, let their names become known !! See below . If you vote in one of the states listed with these 46 “legis..traitors”… vote against them.
In a 53-46 vote, the Senate narrowly passed a measure that will stop the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.  The Statement of Purpose from the Bill reads:  “To uphold Second Amendment rights and prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.”  The U.N. Small Arms Treaty, which has been championed by the Obama Administration, would have effectively placed a global ban on the import and export of small firearms.  The ban would have affected all private gun owners in the U.S. and had language that would have implemented aninternational gun registry, now get this,on all private guns and ammo.
Astonishingly, 46 out of our 100 United States Senators were willing to give away our Constitutional rights to a foreign power.
Here are the 46 senators who voted to give your rights to the U.N.
Baldwin (D-WI)
Baucus (D-MT)

I actually just read point number 11 in full and I don’t think it means what you’ve half-quoted here –

“Calls for Member States to support weapons collection, disarmament, demobilization and reintegration of ex-combatants, as well as physical security and stockpile management programmes by United Nations peacekeeping operations where so mandated; ”

And, as they state in the fourth paragraph of the resolution, this is regards to rebel groups that are threatening third-world nation’s securities.

“Gravely concerned that the illicit transfer, destabilizing accumulation and misuse of small arms and light weapons in many regions of the world continue to pose threats to international peace and security, cause significant loss of life,
contribute to instability and insecurity and continue to undermine the effectiveness of the Security Council in discharging its primary responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security, ”

That they are not interested in just grabbing anyone’s guns and that there are legitimate reasons to own guns and to not impede on member nation’s individual gun laws is further highlighted by the preceding paragraph-

“Emphasizing that the right of individual and collective self-defence recognized in Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations and the legitimate security demands of all countries should be fully taken into account, and recognizing
that small arms and light weapons are traded, manufactured and retained by States for legitimate security, sporting and commercial considerations, ”

In short, the UN isn’t coming for your guns.

But hey, if it keeps people clicking on your donation link, keep cranking out the fear…

Rich, do you really mean to say that you can’t easily see the current administration using nearly every bit of that as an excuse to execute confiscation? I find it a bit tough to believe someone who understands clearly what you read and quoted as not being fodder enough for spin masters of the modern Liberal camp to do exactly that. I am confident that they will promise to read it and apply it just the way you claim it is meant. In fact if the government and or the UN were at all trustworthy in ANY stretch of imagination very few would worry at all. The sad truth is most of us see the NORMAL course of such claptrapical palaver for what it really is. So you can keep calling it false fear but some of us will stick to our guns.

      Rich,
You and the others that have commented in favor of the resolution fail to realize that the current administration was chomping at the bits to get the resolution passed in Congress so they could begin their long wanted campaign to disarm every law-abiding citizen in the US, and still are trying to figure out how to do so without causing another revolution against the same sort of tyranny our forefathers fought and died for. These b’tards will stop at nothing to get their gun-grabbing agenda to the forefront and into action. They have to be stopped cold in November, and again in 2016 if there is to be a modicum of calm and civility in this country. Liberals suck.

Rick, your living in a dream world, unfortunally you weon’t wake up until its too late. I’m sure the German people thought the same thing when they listened to Hitlers smooth retoric –paraphasing his supposed reasons–”– and when we register all guns, if one is used in a crime, we’ll know who tyhe guilty party is and can take correct action—” Too late they found out it meant confiscating all arms so that the German people had nothjing to defend themself with when his TYRANNY dominated the scene! wake up

53 LAW MAKERS SAW SOMETHING WRONG,AND WOULDN’T TRUST THAT MORON WITH SUCH A LAW.HE CAN’T EVEN TELL THE TRUTH ON ACA,SO WHY TRUST HIM TO BE TRUTHFUL WITH ONE THAT DOES GIVE HIM A BACK DOOR.MY OWN STATE SENATOR MIKULSKI LIED TO ME AND TOLD ME SHE WASN’T GOING TO SUPPORT IT,AND SHE DID.THEY WANT THOSE GUNS NOT FOR THE PUBLIC SAFETY,BUT THEIR OWN SAFETY,AND THAT MY FRIEND IS WHY OUR FOREFATHERS PUT IT IN THERE.THEY FORESEEN SUCH THING TAKING PLACE,AND PUT IT THERE TO BACK UP THE FIRST AMENDMENT.I GIVE UP NOTHING.

    • Aunt Jane June 19, 2014 at 4:42 pm #

Sounds good. And right now that’s what they are trying to pass BUT once passed??? The liberal/progressives have tried every back door stunt they can think of to pass gun control/confiscation! If you believe this your have been had!

  4. Donna D February 11, 2014 at 6:44 pm #

So, ignoring the facts in favor of hyperbole, are we? Unless you are an enemy ex-combatant, you have nothing to worry about. Please read what you are talking about before jumping to conclusions.

  7. David February 14, 2014 at 8:33 pm #

    Regarding Rich D’s comment.
It seems that the UN could easily claim the illicit transfer, destabilization, accumulation, misuse and transfer of small arms and light weapons in a place like Chicago could easily bring the UN in to claim jurisdiction in that region of the United States due to use of illicit guns which could lead to significant loss of life, instability and security and to undermine the Security Council’s ability to maintain international peace and security. Next thing you know they they have opened the door to try and control us. The words in the resolution can be twisted around and interpreted many ways. It is time to PUSH THEM BACK on this and all other fronts.

  8. Joey A February 15, 2014 at 6:05 pm #

After reviewing the resolution (http://unscr.com/en/resolutions/doc/2117) I had only one problem and it is the statement near the end of the document. The resolution

“urges States to consider signing and ratifying the Arms Trade Treaty as
soon as possible and encourages States, intergovernmental, regional and subregional organizations that are in a position to do so to render assistance in capacity-building to enable States Parties to fulfil and implement the Treaty’s obligations;”.

The Arms Trade Treaty should be opposed by the United States and the encouragement of adopting it under this current resolution is troublesome. Disarming terrorists during peacekeeping operations in African and Middle Eastern countries is certainly welcomed. However, the attempted infringement of the U.S. Consitution by the U.N. should not be tolerated. Therefore, I would oppose this resolution and am happy to hear Congress voted it down.

  9. Bill L February 16, 2014 at 8:35 pm #

I will save the list of those that voted in favor. I would bet $5 to a donut they are still around after they face their next election.

Many of those that vote D would vote D if the ghost of Chairman Mao was on the ballot.

  10. Aaron McNabb March 5, 2014 at 12:49 pm #

Anyone that thinks Obama wouldn’t invoke this resolution, if it had passed, has not been paying attention for the last 5 years. If the situation gets really bad in Conn. Obama could very well declare Martial Law. And under that blanket all bets are off. We need to challenge every single senator that voted for this resolution when they are up for reelection. There are enough gun owners in this country to bring about change in almost any election with the exception of many districts in California, Illinois and New York of course. Obama and his administration and all the liberal democrats are satan incarnate. Wake up people for time is growing short!

  11. Richard Shriver March 26, 2014 at 9:31 pm #

I agree with Rich. It seems that most of the comments in favor of the Senate Bill are about as paranoid as you can get. You folks better head for your bunkers now! On the other hand, perhaps you should read the introductory comment which states “Emphasizing that the right of individual and collective selp-defense recognized in Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations and the legitimate security demands of all countries should be fully taken into account, and recognizng that small and light weapons are traded, manufactured and retained by States for legitimate security, sporting and commercial considerations”.

  12. Dean Fileccia April 27, 2014 at 5:34 am #

You people really need to get a life. Look up the word resolution (A formal statement of a decision or expression of opinion). See that, “a statement or expression of opinion”

First of all a resolution is not a law. It is nothing more than a statement defining issues that they feel need to be addressed. You can cherry pick statements within the resolution to support any point of view, but the point of the resolution is illicit arms sales and transportation

  13. howe joseph April 29, 2014 at 9:16 am #

Why are the democrats so driven to make criminals out of law abiding citizens. This bill is a serious attempt at creating a path to disaster, because many people will not give up their guns and we will have the federal gestapo pouncing on us with heavy armament like they did in Nevada on Bundy’s ranch. If they would threaten, assault and intimidate over a lousy cow, what’s to stop anything.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter
and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell
to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.

She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell
    someone!
