Floridians Encouraged to Report Neighbors Who “Hate Government” .. By Paul Joseph Watson, foreword by Fred Brownbilll

Sheriff of Palm Beach florida

That we actually have a County Sheriff,  here in the great Sunshine State of Florida, a man sworn to protect and defend ALL of the Constitution, against every enemy, foreign and domestic, plus each and every word, that would want to even initiate a program like this shows that distrust for the Government is growing and that dissention has been noticed and it will not and cannot be allowed by the Progressive enemies of the Constitution.

This hot line for reporting on Patriots, Conservatives, Christians, Gun Owners, Tea Party members and yes, even probably members of this Foundation, will go into place unless Governor  Scott says no and puts a veto in place.  Being that the Florida Governor has dissapointed so many of us, I am not holding my breath for this veto, but I ask each and everyone of you to deluge his office with instructions, as a paid representative of we, the people, to veto it and stop this attrocity.

Remember former Marine Brandon Raub, who was forcebly arrested in Virginia last year for making what were conceived as anti federal government statements on his private Face Book page.  He was held without trial in a psychiatric ward, forcibly and against his will.

This whole plan sounds just like Nazi Germany, where even children were told to report on their own parents, many of whom were arrested and dissapeared.

America…take a step back and really try and understand the extent of this unlawful, unconstitutional program being put in place by one of the very people we have turned to for the protection of our rights and the defense of the constitution.  Those readers who are unfortunate enough to have Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw as their chief law enforcement officer in their county, call him, write to him, e-mail him and visit him and ask him what in the hell does he think he is doing?  How many more freedoms and liberties must we give up in the name of national security which we know does not work?  He needs to be voted out at the next election and drummed out of any form of representation.  He is a disgrace to the badge, a disgrace to the office and an abject failure as regards his Oath which he obviously does not understand.  I call for protests by local people, maybe led by Oath Keepers.  This CRAP has got to stop and NOW would be a great time to stop it……Just my opinion, Fred Brownbill.

A new $1 million dollar program led by Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw aimed at “violence prevention” is encouraging Floridians to report their neighbors for making hateful comments about the government, a chilling reminder of how dissent is being characterized as an extremist threat.

“Bradshaw plans to use the extra $1 million to launch “prevention intervention” units featuring specially trained deputies, mental health professionals and caseworkers. The teams will respond to citizen phone calls to a 24-hour hotline with a knock on the door and a referral to services, if needed,” reports the Palm Beach Post.

Bradshaw makes it clear that the kind of behavior which could prompt a visit from the authorities includes anti-government political statements that may be deemed a prelude to violent action.

“We want people to call us if the guy down the street says he hates the government, hates the mayor and he’s gonna shoot him,” Bradshaw said. “What does it hurt to have somebody knock on a door and ask, ‘Hey, is everything OK?’”

The program will also include “public service announcements to encourage local citizens to report neighbors,” reports the newspaper.

The program has sparked concerns that the hotline could violate civil liberties or even be exploited to pursue personal vendettas, with Bradshaw acknowledging that, “anyone in a messy divorce or in a dispute with a neighbor could abuse the hotline,” and that it will prompt “frivolous complaints.”

That caveat is all the more chilling given the research of Florida State University’s Robert Gellately into how Germans under Hitler denounced their neighbors and friends not because they genuinely believed them to be a security threat, but because they expected to selfishly benefit from doing so, both financially, socially and psychologically via a pavlovian need to be rewarded by their masters for their obedience.

“How are they possibly going to watch everybody who makes a comment like that? It’s subjective,” said Liz Downey, executive director of the Palm Beach County branch of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. “We don’t want to take away people’s civil liberties just because people aren’t behaving the way we think they should be.”

The program is set to go ahead unless it is vetoed by Governor Rick Scott.

As Thomas DiLorenzo points out, the program is also a disturbing throwback to how political dissidents were imprisoned in Soviet mental hospitals, where criticism of the state was deemed “philosophical intoxication.”

Under Stalin, dissidents were sent to infamous psikhushka psychiatric prisons where they were isolated and brainwashed in order to have their political ideas discredited amongst the general public.

It is important to stress that both the First and Second Amendments are being targeted via rhetoric about mental health issues, while the threat posed by one of the real culprits behind violence in America, SSRI drugs, continues to be ignored by the mass media.

As we have documented, while efforts at gun control have largely failed at the legislative level, authorities are greasing the skids for wider gun confiscation by expanding the definition under which a person can be declared “mentally ill,” to the point where harsh anti-government rhetoric is now being treated as a potential precursor to terrorism.

Veterans are already having their guns seized by police off the back of forced “psychiatric evaluations,” while the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is sending out letters to servicemembers warning them that “A determination of incompetency will prohibit you from purchasing, possessing, receiving, or transporting a firearm or ammunition.”

Last year former Marine Brandon Raub was forcibly incarcerated in a psychiatric ward by authorities in Virginia for political posts on Facebook.

The fact that authorities in the U.S. are now pursuing similar programs to those used to marginalize political dissidents in historical dictatorships, albeit on a smaller scale, in response to recent incidents of terrorism and mass shootings – which statistically represent a minute threat to the lives of Americans – serves as a warning of how the state is increasingly citing mental health concerns as a means of eroding fundamental constitutional freedoms.

Sounds like Fred is gonna get a 3:00a.m. rousting. I’ll join him on that shortlist. Tanks for speaking out Fred

So here lies the end of freedom of speech. Project fear into people and you have everything you need to stop whatever you want. Make people afraid to speak against government and the protesting goes away. Then the voting and choice.

And when local governments are strapped for funds , where can this idiot Democrat (a guess) sheriff find a million bucks to pee away on an unconstitutional program such as this ??

To this point, Bradshaw was on the side of the 2nd Amendment and we did NOT view him as a Lefty– Something has changed and this could be BAD news for Palm Bch County. If he goes down this road, he will probably not be reelected… good thing. Traitor.

1 Mill is not enough… There going to need to visit 90% of the people.

How did a Nazi History Fan become Sheriff???????

    • P Ross May 6, 2013 at 1:54 am #

This is a new avenue for Bradshaw— we’ll see where he goes with this. I will actively campaign against him if he insists! Another traitor!

If this hotline is real, please post the phone number. I don’t live in Florida, but I would be more than happy to call these dumb sons of bitches… numerous times… to express my displeasure at the idea. I’m sure other patriots from around the country would gladly do the same.

  6. Gerry B May 3, 2013 at 5:36 pm #

Didn’t the Nazis order people to turn in their neighbors for similar offences?

  7. Ruby-Con May 3, 2013 at 5:56 pm #

We live in Collier county one of the most conservative counties in the State. We, along with the vast majority of our neighbors, friends, church community, law enforcement and military, both retired and active duty, all hate government. Try pulling a stunt like that in our community.

  8. rosie46 May 4, 2013 at 3:14 am #

So we will now get reported for hating the government? Kind of like the websites Obama had up before the election to report people who were speaking against him. What next? This sheriff should be recalled immediately. Jeff has a great idea — post the number and we can flood them with complaints about violating our right to free speech — remember that one Sheriff Bradshaw — the Constitution????? Does he have drones to fly over your house once you are reported??

    • P Ross May 6, 2013 at 1:58 am #

Re: drones— can’t say I’m aware of increased numbers of drones (not supposed to see or hear them anyway) but I can tell you there definitely has been an increase in the number of flyovers of helicopters and low flying planes! For sure.

I suggest your website and any or all Freedom loving American Citizen Groups …. be given the Gov. of Fla. email address ….to let him know that we won’t tolerate this violation of free speech ….. I also suggest a petition to be signed to that effect on all the Conservative Websites ….. and sent to all our Representatives in Washington ….

    • P Ross May 6, 2013 at 1:59 am #

Get it set up and post it here…. I’ll certainly be on board.

received as an e mail from Jim Tingler:

I have recently written a Petition to Gov. Rick Scott to Veto Prevention Intervention and Rick Bradshaw.

Though I need help getting the petition circulated. Please call me at 678.602.9335.

    Veto Free Speech Police!
Right now, freedom-stealing Sheriff Rick Bradshaw of Palm Beach County FL is scheming to sneak a massive power grab and create a new program called “Prevention Intervention”.

If passed, it would enable your neighbor to make an anonymous phone call and report you for any political views deemed as “anti government” or “potentially violent”. Get ready for the re-education camps!!!

That’s why it’s vital you sign the below “Veto Free Speech Police” Petition IMMEDIATELY

    Veto Free Speech Police:
    Governor Rick Scott, FL

Whereas: Freedom of speech is a chief cornerstone of our liberties, enshrined in the First Amendment to the United States Constitution; and
Whereas: In the past, many Members of the Florida legislature, instead of taking steps protect our liberties, have chosen instead to use the issue to dramatically expand government intrusion into our lives; and
Whereas: The so-called “Prevention Intervention” proposal being touted by Sheriff Rick Bradshaw includes a neighborhood spying program that is bound to be exploited
Whereas: A county and even state wide database could be created allowing government bureaucrats to track all Floridian’s firearms and potentially lead to infringement on the 2nd amendment as well as the 1st
Therefore: I urge you to veto the legislation for “Prevention Intervention” or “Violence Prevention” as the threat to our liberty is not worth the promise of additional security at the cost of bigger government

Please submit the information below to sign your petition.

    Dear Sirs:

    Received in e mail:

What Rick Bradshaw is attempting to do reminds me of the days of Hitler. Our Constitution gives us the right to free speech. His idea that neighbors should report their neighbor if they happen to overhear something derogatory being said about the government is absolutely insane. There are many who are disgusted with what is happening in the government and we talk about this. So what happens if someone happens to overhear “bad mouthing” of the government and decides to call this in?

I am totally disgusted with this man and his ideas.

My county sheriff is doing the same thing. A social network site called NEXTDOOR will be used to turn in neighbors in San Bernardino County and in the city of Rancho Cucamonga in Southern California. They are also installing police cameras downtown even though we are the 6th safest city in the nation. Talk about terror.
